By proceeding to book you agree to the Travel by Investec terms and conditions below.

You further acknowledge that Travel by Investec operates as a reseller of flights and all content relating to flights on our website is sourced from a Global Distributions Service (GDS) or directly from the various airlines via an Application Programming Interface (API).

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that our website is updated in order to take into account any travel restrictions that may be imposed from time to time, it may be possible that there is a delay in the GDS or airline system resulting in inaccuracies at the time of booking.

By proceeding to book the selected flight, you confirm that you have checked that there are no travel restrictions in the relevant countries of departure, transit and arrival which may affect your booking and that you have satisfied yourself on behalf of all travellers under the booking that you can proceed. 

You further confirm that you have checked the entry requirements of your destination country, as a quarantine period or testing may be a requirement when arriving from South Africa.

Travel by Investec shall not be liable for losses suffered as a result of any operational changes, cancellations and border restrictions nor any consequential damages incurred by you, or any traveller under the booking in the event that flights are not able to operate as planned, including as a result of any disruptions, cancellations or changes to planned schedules.  Please note that in the event that a flight is disrupted or cancelled due to travel restrictions being imposed the relevant airline will have its own policy which will apply. 

1. General

1.1 Travel by Investec facilitates transactions between you and travel service providers (“Suppliers”), such as airlines, hotels, car hire companies, tour operators, cruise companies, rail operators, visa service companies, travel insurance companies and foreign exchange operators and enables you to purchase such Supplier products and services. (“Travel by Investec products”)
1.2 These terms and conditions form the entire agreement between you and Travel by Investec regarding your purchase of a Travel by Investec travel product. When you purchase a Supplier’s products and services you will also be bound by the relevant Supplier’s service terms.
1.3 The service terms in respect of flights can be found on the relevant airlines’ websites.
1.4 The service terms in respect of hotels can be found on the relevant accommodation properties’ websites as well as your booking confirmation sheet.
1.5 Supplier’s service terms and the benefits offered by Suppliers are subject to change at any time without notice. All benefits are subject to availability and may be terminated without notice.
1.6 When making a booking on our website through the Internet Booking Engine (“IBE”), you are engaging directly with Travel by Investec and you will be billed by Travel by Investec as well as the relevant airline if you have purchased airline tickets.
1.7 Travel by Investec is entitled to retain and be paid a brokerage, commission, fees allowance and other remunerations from Suppliers.
1.8 The terms and conditions contained herein are subject to change at any time by Travel by Investec without notice. All benefits offered by Travel by Investec and Suppliers are subject to availability and may be terminated without notice.
1.9 Travel by Investec is not responsible for any losses related to the offer, fulfilment or use of the goods or services offered and provided by Suppliers to you.
1.10 These terms and conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

2. Personal Information

The processing of your personal information and your travel companions’ personal information provided to Travel by Investec is subject to the provisions of Investec’s Data Protection Statement. By submitting any personal information to Travel by Investec you agree to these provisions which can be accessed at https://www.investec.com/en_za/legal/data-protection-statement.html

3. Contacting Travel by Investec

3.1 The Internet Booking Engine (“IBE”):

3.1.1 You are only able to view selected Travel by Investec products on the Travel by Investec website.
3.1.2 You can purchase certain Travel by Investec products directly from the Travel by Investec website via the IBE.
3.1.3 To purchase Travel by Investec products you must either contact a Travel by Investec consultant or alternatively you may access the IBE online through the Travel by Investec website to purchase selected Travel by Investec products available through the IBE.
3.1.4 The IBE enables you to search online for the availability of certain Travel by Investec products.
3.1.5 Once you have found suitable Travel by Investec products on the IBE, you will be able to book and purchase the selected Travel by Investec products online through the IBE without the assistance of a Travel by Investec consultant.
3.1.6 When booking or purchasing Travel by Investec products online through the IBE you are dealing directly with Travel by Investec and you will be billed directly by Travel by Investec and the relevant airline if you have purchased airline tickets.
3.1.7 The Travel by Investec products advertised on the Travel by Investec website are subject to availability and the prices displayed are subject to change. We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors displayed on the website or the IBE.
3.1.8 If you are booking and purchasing airline tickets and you or your travel companions have a medical condition or any special requirements, such as the need for a wheelchair, you must contact a Travel by Investec consultant on the same day that your online booking through the IBE has been confirmed so that the Travel by Investec consultant can request the required assistance for you. For further information concerning this please refer to the product specific terms and conditions.

3.2 Travel by Investec consultants:

3.2.1 The Travel by Investec consultants can assist you in booking available Travel by Investec products advertised on the Travel by Investec website as well as with a wide range of flights, accommodation and travel packages tailored to your needs.
3.2.2 Any cancellations or changes to Travel by Investec bookings made either through the IBE or the Travel by Investec consultants must be done through the Travel by Investec consultants. You should also direct any Travel by Investec travel enquiry, compliment or complaint to the Travel by Investec consultants.

3.2.3 The Travel by Investec consultants are available between 08h00 to 17h00 (Monday to Friday) and are closed on weekends and public holidays.
3.2.4 Email support is available on Saturdays between 09h00 to 13h00.
3.2.5 Emergency support is available 24/7.

4. Travel by Investec Specific Fees and Charges

4.1 The Travel by Investec fees and charges specified below are in addition to the Travel by Investec product purchase price and any Supplier specific fees and charges that may be imposed by Suppliers. The Travel by Investec product purchase price and all fees and charges will be debited directly to your nominated Investec Visa credit card. Our fees and charges are not refundable.
4.1.1 Booking fee
If you contact the Travel by Investec consultants to assist you in purchasing a Travel by Investec product which is accessible via the IBE or which you are prohibited from purchasing directly via the IBE, you will be charged a booking fee (referred to as a traveller support fee) for certain of these Travel by Investec bookings, irrespective of the number of Travel by Investec products purchased as part of that booking. A booking fee may also be charged for purchases you make directly by you via the IBE.
4.1.2 Change fee
You will be charged a change fee for certain changes made through the Travel by Investec consultants to confirmed bookings.
4.1.3 Cancellation fee
You will be charged a cancellation fee for certain cancellations through the Travel by Investec consultants of confirmed bookings.
4.2 Current fees
Below are our current Travel by Investec specific fees and charges which we may review from time to time at our sole discretion.

5. Travel by Investec Airline Partners

5.1 Travel by Investec Airline Partners:

5.1.1 Travel by Investec holds relationships with certain airline Suppliers (“Airline Partners”) and is able to offer you certain benefits including preferential airfares.
5.1.2 To take advantage of the Travel by Investec c benefits offered by Airline Partners, all bookings must be reserved and ticketed through Travel by Investec, and full payment must be made with a valid Investec Visa credit card.
5.1.3 Travel commencement dates vary by airline.
5.1.4 Tickets are non-transferable, non-endorsable and may be non-refundable depending on the class of service ticketed.
5.1.5 Discounts apply to the ticket price only, excluding airport taxes, surcharges, levies and VAT, unless otherwise indicated. Discounts apply to adult, child and infant tickets, unless otherwise indicated. Discounts apply to leisure or business bookings, unless otherwise indicated.
5.1.6 Benefits offered by Airline Partners are valid for one-way or round-trip travel provided travel originates in a qualifying gateway. Any deviations or changes in routing by personal choice of the cardholder after ticketing will be at the cardholder’s expense.
5.1.7 Tickets can only be issued the same day as the departure date if inventory is available and if the applicable airline allows electronic ticketing. Otherwise, same-day reservation, ticketing and departures are not allowed.
5.1.8 Electronic tickets will be issued for all itineraries.
5.1.9 Multiple Travel by Investec travel benefits provided by Travel by Investec may be booked, but such benefits may not be combinable with a Supplier’s other offers.
5.1.10 Benefits may generally be redeemed multiple times, subject to specific Supplier limitations or unless limits are noted and are valid on new bookings only.
5.1.11 The benefits offered by Airline Partners are subject to change or be cancelled without notice. Airlines Partners reserve the right to change or modify the benefits offered.
5.1.12 All travel must be completed on flights operated by the Airline Partner carrier, unless otherwise noted. Travel by Investec Airline Partner seat allocations and destinations may be limited on specific airlines and departures and are subject to availability.
5.1.13 If a booking is made through Travel by Investec with a Supplier that is not an Airline Partner, then Travel by Investec will offer rates negotiated by Travel by Investec and/or those available to Travel by Investec available to it in the Global Distribution System.
5.1.14 All tickets will be subject to all government fees, taxes and other charges which must be paid at the time of ticketing with an Investec Visa credit card. Additional terms and conditions may apply. The goods and services described herein are offered and provided by third party
5.1.15 Suppliers and Travel by Investec is not responsible for any losses related to the offer, fulfillment or use of the goods or services.
5.1.16 Please contact a Travel by Investec consultant for additional Airline Partner benefit details and relevant terms and conditions. Alternatively, terms and conditions per Airline Partner per benefit are available on the Travel by Investec website.
5.1.17 These terms and conditions should be read with the Airline Partners’ terms and conditions per benefit, which apply in addition to the specific Travel by Investec rules in this section. If a conflict exists between these specific Travel by Investec terms and conditions and the Airline Partners’ terms and conditions referred to, the Airline Partners’ terms and conditions will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

5.2 Travel by Investec Land and Cruise Partners:

5.2.1 Travel by Investec holds relationships with certain land and cruise Suppliers (“Land and Cruise Partners”) and is able to offer you certain benefits including preferential rates and exclusive benefits in respect of their products and services.
5.2.2 To take advantage of any benefits offered by Land and Cruise Partners you must book through Travel by Investec and must reserve and pay in full for reservations, including deposit and final payment, with a valid Investec Visa credit card.
5.2.3 All Land and Cruise Partner benefits are subject to availability and are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Land and Cruise Partner benefits may be limited to specific room types and may vary by Land and Cruise Partner. Travel by Investec’s Land and Cruise Partner benefits are discount and amenity-based.
5.2.4 Benefits in the form of preferential rates apply to leisure or business bookings, unless otherwise indicated. If a booking is made through Travel by Investec with a Supplier that is not a Land and Cruise Partner then Travel by Investec will offer rates negotiated by Travel by Investec and/or those available to Travel by Investec
5.2.5 Room upgrades and programme amenities are based upon availability at time of arrival unless otherwise noted. Room upgrades are offered only for designated hotels and room categories and individual hotel participation may be withdrawn without prior notice. Upgrades may not apply to suite bookings.
5.2.6 Hotel and resort benefits do not apply to wholesaler bookings. Multiple travel by Investec travel benefits provided by Travel by Investec may be booked, but such benefits may not be combinable with a Land and Cruise Partner’s other offers. Benefits may generally be redeemed multiple times, subject to specific Land and Cruse Partner limitations or unless limits are noted and are valid on new bookings only.
5.2.7 Benefits offered by Land and Cruise Partners as well as the Land and Cruise Partners themselves are subject to change or be cancelled without notice. Blackout dates and additional terms and conditions may apply.
5.2.8 The goods and services described herein are offered and provided by third party Suppliers and Travel by Investec is not responsible for any losses related to the offer, fulfillment or use of the goods or services.
5.2.9 Please contact a Travel by Investec consultant for additional Land and Cruise Partner Benefits and relevant terms and conditions. Alternatively, terms and conditions per Land and Cruise Partner are available on the Travel by Investec website.
5.2.10 These terms and conditions should be read with the Land and Cruise Partners’ terms and conditions per benefit, which apply in addition to the specific Travel by Investec rules in this section. If a conflict exists between these specific Travel by Investec terms and conditions and the Land and Cruise Partners’ terms and conditions referred to, the Land and Cruise Partners’ terms and conditions will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

6. Travel by Investec payment options

6.1 Payment can be made in either Investec Rewards points or Rand or a combination of Investec Rewards points and Rand.
6.2 You may not split your payment between more than one Investec Rewards account or Investec Visa credit card.
6.3 Full payment for your purchase will be debited from your Investec Visa credit card. Your rewards redemption request will then be processed and your account will be credited with a travel redemption rebate within two to three business days.
6.4 Payment in Investec Rewards points must be made from your Investec Rewards account.
6.5 Payment in Rand must be made from an Investec Visa credit card.
6.6 No debit cards or payments from other bank credit cards or accounts are accepted.

7. Travel by Investec offer and acceptance

7.1 You acknowledge that advertising and placing Travel by Investec products on the website, IBE or through the Travel by Investec travel consultants or quoting the price of Travel by Investec products are not considered an offer to purchase.
7.2 Where a booking is made via a Travel by Investec consultant you will make the offer to purchase the Travel by Investec products upon your acceptance of our final quotation, such acceptance to be provided by you to us either though written confirmation including email, telephonically or in person. For bookings made via the IBE, your offer to purchase will be made when you confirm your booking through the IBE.
7.3 Notwithstanding any other terms and conditions contained in any other document, your offer will only be accepted once your booking has been made and confirmed and payment has been received for the booking.
7.4 We retain in our sole discretion the right to accept or reject your offer.
7.5 The relevant Supplier’s service terms, excluding those service terms which relate to the reservation, payment and refund procedures of Suppliers, will apply to your travel booking. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fully aware of the relevant Supplier’s service terms.
7.6 If you make a Travel by Investec booking via the IBE, we will summarise on an online confirmation form the details of those Travel by Investec products which you have selected to purchase, as well as your selected payment option. You will be requested on the aforesaid online confirmation form to confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions by clicking on the space provided. Once you have confirmed your acceptance of these terms and conditions, you will be required to click on the Pay Now button. Only once you have clicked on the Pay Now button will your booking be reserved and purchased simultaneously.
7.7 We are unable to process any refunds should you have made a mistake relating to the details of your purchased Travel by Investec product whether booked through the IBE or through a Travel by Investec travel consultant.
7.8 Since all Travel by Investec products and related services and activities are provided by Suppliers to Travel by Investec, we do not, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, when and if applicable, accept liability for any actions, errors or omissions on the part of any Suppliers and/or any other service providers, which are governed by their respective rules, regulations and service terms.
7.8.1 You acknowledge that some Suppliers offering certain services and activities may require you and your travel companions to sign their liability waiver and additional terms and conditions prior to participating in the service and/or activity they offer. You understand that any violation of any such Supplier’s rules and restrictions may result in cancellation of your and/or your travel companions’ reservation(s), you and/or your travel companions being denied access to the applicable travel product, you and your travel companions forfeiting any monies paid for such reservation(s), and/or our debiting your Investec Visa credit card and/or holding you liable for any costs we incur as a result of such violation.

8. Cancellations Charges and Refunds

8.1 Refunds should be claimed from the relevant Suppliers and we will facilitate the refund process.
8.2 All refunds, including but not limited to, refunds occasioned by change requests or cancellations, are dependent on the Supplier’s refund policy and service terms, which may include cancellation fees, administration fees or denial of application.
8.3 All requests for refunds, cancellations or changes to an already booked Travel by Investec product must be directed to a Travel by Investec consultant. No cancellations or change requests can be requested or effected via the IBE or relevant Supplier directly.
8.4 The Travel by Investec consultants charge cancellation and change fees for all allowed changes and cancellations of partially or fully paid up bookings. Please note these fees are charged to cover the administration costs for making the changes therefore these fees are in addition to any Supplier fees that may be applicable when making changes and cancelling bookings. Deposits paid and our booking fees are not refundable. For further information concerning our fees and charges, please refer to the Travel by Investec specific fees and charges set out in clause 4.
8.5 If any refund is due to you, any Rand balance will be credited to the Investec Visa credit card you used to pay for the Travel by Investec product.
8.6 IBE errors made by you allocating the incorrect amounts to your Investec Rewards account and Investec Visa credit card cannot be reversed. Assisting you in correcting any other IBE booking errors will be in the sole discretion of the Travel by Investec consultants after taking the relevant Suppliers’ service terms into account.
8.7 If you wish to cancel your booking and request a refund due to medical reasons, we will require a medical report from your doctor providing reasons for why you are not fit to travel. The relevant Suppliers’ refund policy and service terms will determine whether you are entitled to a cancellation and refund.
8.8 Refunds for airfares can take anything between 1 week and 8 weeks and in exceptional cases, even longer to process. We cannot refund you until the airlines have refunded us. Once we have received the refund from the relevant airline we will refund you immediately and send you written confirmation of the refund.
8.9 Other refunds are dependent on the relevant Supplier and can take up to 8 weeks and in exceptional cases, even longer to process. We cannot refund you until the Suppliers have refunded us. Once we have received the refund from the relevant Supplier, we will refund you and send you written confirmation of the refund.

9. Travel Risk and Insurance

9.1 You undertake all activities associated with Travel by Investec products and services at your own risk.
9.2 Although most travel, including travel to international destinations, is completed without any serious incidents, certain travel destinations, products and services may involve greater risks than others. It is your and your travel companions’ sole responsibility to research and ascertain the risk associated with certain travel destinations, products and services, including but not limited to: the method of travel, travel routes, travel itineraries, travel experiences and travel destinations. By offering for sale travel products and services, we do not represent or warrant that such travel products or services are advisable or without risk, and accordingly we are not liable, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, when and if applicable, for damages or losses that may result from such travel.
9.3 Travel insurance is available through Travel by Investec and certain of the products or services available through Travel by Investec include travel insurance where specified. However, it is your sole responsibility to ascertain and determine whether you will require any travel insurance. We recommend that you consider obtaining comprehensive travel insurance and that you seek appropriate advice from an authorised financial services provider in this regard.

10. Currency Fluctuations

10.1 Prices of Travel by Investec products that have an international element thereto are subject to currency fluctuations.
10.2 All such products’ prices quoted to you on the Travel by Investec website or by a Travel by Investec consultant and/or those prices stated on our travel confirmation forms are quoted to you subject to such currency fluctuations. If such a product’s price increases, due to currency fluctuations, from the time that we have quoted or stated to you the product’s price, until such time that we have received payment from you, we reserve the right to charge you the product’s actual price as increased by currency fluctuations. For the avoidance of doubt, it is recorded that we reserve the right to charge you the product’s increased price, notwithstanding the fact that you have already signed or confirmed acceptance of the travel confirmation form.
10.3 We will however first request your permission to deduct from your Investec Visa credit card such product’s increased price and should you omit or refuse to provide us with the required consent, then we will not proceed to book the product on your behalf.

11. Unscheduled Extensions

In the unlikely event of there being an unscheduled extension or variation to a Travel by Investec product caused by flight delays, bad weather, strikes, technical difficulties, communication breakdowns, your or your travel companions’ actions and/or omissions (irrespective of whether such conduct is negligent or not) and/or any other cause which is beyond our control, then you will be liable for the any expenses relating thereto, including but not limited to hotel accommodation and flights.

12. Valid Travel documents

12.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that you and your relevant travel companion(s) are in possession of valid passports for the duration of your trip. Some destinations require that passports are to be valid for a certain length of time; in general, 6 (six) months after completion of travel. You may also be required to obtain a visa, health certificates or any other travel related documents for some destinations, even as a transit passenger, prior to departure, and it is your responsibility to do so.
12.2 For information on passport, visa requirements, health certificates, vaccinations or any other travel related documents and requirements, you should contact the relevant embassy, high commission or consulate of the country to which you will be travelling or alternatively contact a Travel by Investec consultant for further assistance, prior to and at the time that you are making a booking via Travel by Investec. If you are not travelling immediately after making the booking, then you should contact the same relevant aforesaid bodies timeously before you commence your travel to ensure that the requirements which are applicable to you and your travel companions have not changed and that you and your travel companions’ travel documents remain valid for all flights, destinations and planned stopovers.
12.3 A failure to travel with the correct documentation could result in you and/or your travel companion(s) being refused travel, entry to the country of your destination or stop-over, deportation or incarceration and in such circumstance(s) you and your travel companion(s) shall not hold us liable for any costs, claims, consequences or damages suffered of whatsoever nature, arising from your and/or your relevant travel companions’ failure/omission to ensure that he/she has complied with all travel documentation requirements. You fully indemnify us against all claims by any person, including your relevant travel companions, for all damages, fines, penalties, causes of actions, costs (including all legal fees on an attorney and own client scale, resulting from your and/or your travel companions’ failure/omission to ensure that he/she has complied with all travel documentation requirements.
12.4 With effect from 1 June 2015, Regulation 6 of the Immigration Act requires the following documentation in respect of children travelling:
12.4.1 Where parents are travelling with a child they must produce an unabridged birth certificate of the child reflecting the particulars of the parents of the child. In the case of one parent travelling with a child, he or she must produce an unabridged birth certificate and consent in the form of an affidavit from the other parent registered as a parent on the birth certificate of the child authorising him or her to enter into or depart from the Republic with the child he or she is travelling with; a court order granting full parental responsibilities and rights or legal guardianship in respect of the child, if he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the child; or where applicable, a death certificate of the other parent registered as a parent of the child on the birth certificate.
12.4.2 Where a person is travelling with a child who is not his or her biological child, he or she must produce a copy of the unabridged birth certificate of the child; an affidavit from the parents or legal guardian of the child confirming that he or she has permission to travel with the child; copies of the identity documents or passports of the parents or legal guardian of the child; and the contact details of the parents or legal guardian of the child.
12.4.3 Any unaccompanied minor shall produce to the immigration officer proof of consent from one of or both his or her parents or legal guardian, as the case may be, in the form of a letter or affidavit for the child to travel into or depart from the Republic: Provided that in the case where one parent provides proof of consent, that parent must also provide a copy of a court order issued to him or her in terms of which he or she has been granted full parental responsibilities and rights in respect of the child; a letter from the person who is to receive the child in the Republic, containing his or her residential address and contact details in the Republic where the child will be residing; a copy of the identity document or valid passport and visa or permanent residence permit of the person who is to receive the child in the Republic; and the contact details of the parents or legal guardian of the child.

13. Product specific terms and conditions

The following product specific terms and conditions will apply. A specific Supplier’s service terms, other than those service terms which relate to reservation, payment and refund procedures, will however prevail to the extent that it conflicts with these product specific terms and conditions:

13.1 Hotels/accommodation establishments

13.1.1 No booking fees apply.
13.1.2 Hotel/accommodation bookings may be for either business or leisure purposes.
13.1.3 All rates and availability of accommodation quoted are subject to change without prior notice.
13.1.4 Rates quoted are on a per person per night sharing basis and are for accommodation only, unless specifically stated otherwise. Additional single supplements may apply.
13.1.5 The meal plan will be indicated on your quotation or travel confirmation form. B&B denotes ‘Bed and Breakfast’. DBB denotes ‘Dinner, Bed and Breakfast’. FB denotes ‘Full Board’ which includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. AI denotes “All Inclusive’ and includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and selected drinks as specified by the establishment.
13.1.6 Rates quoted are not available for groups or conferences.
13.1.7 All accommodation provided in terms of any booking made via the IBE or the Travel by Investec consultants will be subject to the specific hotel or establishment’s terms and conditions.
13.1.8 Hotels and establishments providing accommodation undergo renovations from time to time which may impact on your enjoyment of the accommodation. We are not responsible or liable for any compensation or damages that you or your travel companion may suffer due to renovations taking place while resident at the hotel or establishment.

13.2 Car hire

13.2.1 Cars may be hired by Investec cardholders only.
13.2.2 The rental of cars may be for either business or leisure purposes.
13.2.3 There are no restrictions on the number of rentals per Investec cardholder.
13.2.4 No booking fees apply.
13.2.5 Car rental rates are subject to change without any prior notice to Investec cardholders.
13.2.6 Only the type and class of vehicle can be specified upon booking. The car rental agency and booking detail is confirmed via SMS and email within an hour of confirming payment details.
13.2.7 When renting a car, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the relevant car rental agency.
13.2.8 To request an extension of the rental period, Travel by Investec will require at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the return date to process the extension.
13.2.9 To cancel the rental agreement before the return date you must return the car to the car rental agency. All amounts owing at the time, will automatically be debited from the Investec Visa credit card.
13.2.10 Cancellation fees apply and will be confirmed by the relevant car rental agency.
13.2.11 During the rental period, the car can only be driven by the driver and/or the additional driver/s as recorded on the rental form.
13.2.12 The renter and/or driver and/or additional driver all agree to pay the car rental agency plus all other charges and fees payable as per the rental agreement or any official quote. The renter, driver or additional driver agrees to pay all fines, penalties, toll tariffs and like expenses.
13.2.13 All rates include VAT and super waiver cover.
13.2.14 You will be required to provide a valid identity document, a valid driver’s license and a valid credit card on collection of the hired car.

13.3 Airlines

13.3.1 Airfares are subject to availability and fare increases without any prior notice.
13.3.2 Airline bookings may be for either business or leisure purposes.
13.3.3 Bookings for tickets must be in your and your travel companions’ names and surnames as reflected in your and your companions’ passports or identity documents for local travel bookings. Once a booking is confirmed, name changes (spelling or full name) are not allowed, unless otherwise specified and may incur a fee in such instances. Where name changes are not permitted, a new ticket will have to be purchased and cancellation penalties will apply to the original ticket purchased.
13.3.4 If your ticket is refundable, a cancellation fee will be charged if a flight is cancelled before departure. Flights cancelled or unused after departure are non-refundable.
13.3.5 If you do not show up for your flight, your full ticket will be forfeited (changes must be made at least 8 hours prior to departure).
13.3.6 If changes are permitted on your ticket, the change is subject to the original fare class availability, if available at the time of change. Re-routes are permitted on certain tickets, subject to airline rules.
13.3.7 Upgrades to a higher fare class are permitted on some tickets. Standard change penalties will apply, subject to airline rules.
13.3.8 All changes to booked air tickets will incur costs, which costs will vary according to the various airline rules, and may, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, when and if applicable, be as much as 100%. All changes will incur a change fee.
13.3.9 All domestic fares quoted include VAT, airport taxes, security tax, fuel surcharges and the booking fee (if applicable).
13.3.10 All international fares quoted exclude VAT, but include airport taxes, security tax, fuel surcharges and the booking fee. All changes to your air ticket will incur a cost to you.
13.3.11 Once your air ticket has been issued, the specific airline rules will apply.
13.3.12 All airline check-in times are subject to the specific airline rules.
13.3.13 Each airline applies its own standard policies regarding the number of pieces of luggage and the weight/mass restrictions applicable thereto per passenger. It will be your and/or your travel companion’s’ sole responsibility to enquire as to the particular airlines’s policies. In the event that you and/or your travel companion exceeds the luggage limit stipulated, any further expense incurred as a result thereof will be for your own account.
13.3.14 If you, for whatever reason, miss the flight, you will be deemed to have forfeited the amount paid.
13.3.15 Please note that the IBE will not facilitate pre-flight seat allocations. Once you have booked an air ticket via the IBE, you may, if available, follow the link on our website to the relevant airline’s website or contact its call centre, to pre-book your required seats. You will need the reference number which the IBE generated upon your purchase of the air ticket to pre-book a seat.

14. Travel Package policy

14.1 Travel packages are pre-packaged through tour operators. The packages quoted are subject to availability, fare increases and specific terms and conditions.
14.2 All changes/cancellations will incur costs, which may, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, when and if applicable, be as much as 100%.
14.3 Kindly note that due to constant currency fluctuations the taxes quoted may vary from date of quotation to date of payment. You will solely be liable for paying the difference in such taxes and we do not accept any liability whatsoever for the difference in such taxes.
14.4 You shall not hold us liable for any non-availability, changes in prices or any damages suffered due to circumstances changing from the date of quotation to the date we accept your offer to purchase the Travel by Investec product.
14.5 We shall only be liable for those costs of the travel package as expressly stated in the itinerary. All other costs, notwithstanding such additional costs being associated, directly or indirectly, with our expenditure obligations, shall be for your sole account.
14.6 The travel package shall only be for your or such other person’s designated by you upon purchasing the travel package and his/her companion(s) who shall accompany him/her on his/her travel, as the case may be), and shall not be ceded, sold, bartered or in any way whatsoever be transferred to any other person. The travel package or any unused component thereof shall not be redeemed for cash or kind or in any way whatsoever.
